Welcome to Indian Chai Stories! Do you have a chai story of your own to share? Send it to me here, please : indianchaistories@gmail.com. My name is Gowri Mohanakrishnan and I'm a tea planter's wife. I started this blog because one of the things that I wouldn't want us to lose in a fast changing world is the tea story - a story always told with great seriousness, no matter how funny - always true (always), maybe a tall tale, long, or short, impossible, scary, funny or exciting but never dull. You will find yourself transported to another world!
Happy reading! Cheers to the spirit of Indian Tea!

I was also a Tea Planter during early 70's for short period of time with Duncan Brothers in Lungla Tea Estate, Sylhet Bangladesh. Even it was of very short duration - compared to others - I still have few stories on Tea Garden lifestyle somewhat similar to the articles I have been reading here and I feel very nostalgic when I vividly remember those episodes. Now that I am retired from Technical/Management Profession in OIl & Gas Industry for almost 30 years here in USA, I still cherish those memories from Tea Plantation during early part of my career. Someday I planned to write my story which some of my close friends here in Houston, Texas also asked me to do. Best regards and thanks for this endeavor. ..... Kalim Ullah
Great pictures. Puts life into the stories. Thanks for this Gowri.
You're welcome, Yawar! Had such fun putting it together.
How nice to hear from you, Mr Kalim Ullah. Thank you for your kind words of appreciation. Looking forward to hearing your stories.
